In recent years the use of stone in fireplaces has become quite popular. These materials include Irish Sandstone, Irish Limestone, Granite, Spanish Sandstone and oolitic Limestone. The design of these fireplaces generally follows the European trend of combining two or more different materials in the same fireplace or the same material in different finishes.
